Calling all Pre-L's
Anyone in the NY area planning on or thinking about about applying to law school, there's should going to be a great seminar at Fordham University (my alma mater) on Tues, Oct 27. Click here for information. Ann Levine, law school admissions expert, will be speaking about admissions, taking questions, as well as selling copies of her book. Check out the link and comment with any questions!

This always makes me smile when I'm being a brat
So, I was trying to do some research today in the library when the Internet decided to be as slow as humanly possible. Frustrated to no end, I remembered this bit and I told myself, "calm down Nicole, it's going to space".

I'm a Flake
Two weeks ago, at breakfast, my neighbor lamented that I stopped blogging. That day I promised myself I would post something. I also promised myself the day after, and the day after that. I just can't seem to find the time. Law school gives me that awful guilty feeling that when I'm doing something that's not school related, I'm wasting time or committing treason. It's awful. It's like lying to your parent or something. It makes me feel very, very guilty.
These feelings, of course, are completely irrational and in light of today's interesting set of events, I thought I would put down the books for a while and get to blogging (if it is only for the sake of my neighbor).
It is near impossible to believe that we're just about at the halfway point. Tomorrow concludes week 7 in a roughly 13 week semester. wow.
I have to say I'm in much more of a groove now. Getting called on doesn't make me shake and reading no longer requires as much caffeine.
Oh, and this morning I got into a bit of a car incident, and I instantly started considering all the legal implications of it. That has to mean something, right?
In any case, I have been religiously reading other blogs out there and was finally fed up with having mine reflect the same youtube video from weeks ago. So, I'm vowing to be more religious with this so I can have interesting short posts, instead of attempting a long, catch-me-up post.
Oh, and just a tidbit that I'd like to share... Rutgers' International Law Society has a table in the atrium at which they are selling t-shirts. The shirts have the absolute vodka bottle... but instead of "absolute vodka", they say "absolute fee simple". Are you seeing this? It was hysterical, really.
Laughing at property law jokes. This is what week 7 looks like ladies and gentlemen.
Hopefully sooner than later,
Ciao!

Blogging from the Law Library, Take 1
So if you've noticed my posts aren't very substantive these days, it's because they're not. I'm swamped folks. While I get my act together, enjoy the following. :)

I Have a Crush on the Dean
An email regarding the Labor Day holiday sent out today by the Law School Dean...
A global e-mail was sent out earlier this week to the Campus by the school registrar, reminding everyone that Tuesday will be treated as Monday next week, because of the Labor Day holiday.
That may be true for some units, but not for us - whatever our political stripe, we lawyers are strict constructionists in this regard: Tuesday means Tuesday. Unless we lawyers say otherwise. Which thistime, we do not.
In other words, ignore the e-mail from the registrar, and on Tuesday goto your Tuesday classes. And before that, have a terrific longweekend!
